Just in time for the cold and dark season, DARK MATTER will be back with a new colorful and bright WINTERLIGHTS display in our outdoor area.
From November 8, to January 5, as winter whispers through Berlin, artist Christopher Bauder's seasonal outdoor installation will emerge once more as a beacon of light and shine.
WINTERLIGHTS '24
08 NOVEMBER 2024 - 05 JANUARY 2025
This atmospheric artwork transforms the chilly winter nightscape into a sparkling winter wonderland, reinterpreting the traditional Christmas tree with a creative twist. Illuminated trees hang like stars from the heavens, while others stand tall on the ground, crafting a forest of light that invites everyone to wander its glittering paths.
It's a winter symphony of light and sound, with each illuminated tree synchronized to the soundtrack by composer Chris Kuijten. The music mixes contemplative sounds with irresistible beats that invite both reflection and dance.
This seasonal light and sound installation, an upside-down world of wonder, continues to build on the success of previous years, fascinating children and adults alike, while transforming the dark, cold winter season into a time of magical celebration and heartwarming joy.
Step into a festive installation where 100,000 twinkling lights and glittering disco balls transform the treetops into an undulating, magical forest canopy! This dazzling display comes to life every Tuesday through Sunday right after sunset, with an enchanting show that repeats every 40 minutes. We welcome you to bask in the glow, enjoy delicious mulled wine, or children's punch, and create unforgettable memories in this enchanting setting.
